A Mission and Vision
MISSION:
This elective class will aim towards the following three goals:
1. Students enrich their global understanding of science through the study of topics ranging beyond the current curricula offered in school.
2. Students learn through improving their imperfect solutions in a collaborative and experiential manner.
3. Students make a positive contribution to their community by finding problems based in real and practical need for which they attempt to incrementally solve.
VISION:
In learning how to become innovative thinkers, students will engage in real and applicable inquiry into solving problems of a client base from the community. Learning from failure of a concept and persisting through multiple redesigns will ultimately provide the structure through which this class will allow students to experience authentic scientific discovery. On their level. In their own way. Students will learn for the sake of learning and self-improvement. A science enrichment and research class would thus be the forum through which students can get the guidance needed in their quest to become participants in the scientific and business communities. It would be the springboard from which we feed back into a community that already prides itself on thinking and doing things outside the proverbial box.
